Abraham, the father of the Jewish nation, was ordered to migrate to Israel around 3700 years ago. As the Bible records: And God said to Avraham: "Go from your land, from your birthplace and from your father's house, to the land that I will show you." (Genesis 12)
Abraham was the first person in Jewish history to execute a real estate transaction in the Promised Land by purchasing the Cave of Machpela in Hebron.
Following Avraham, his son Isaac cultivated the land by digging wells for water and building bases in order to establish towns (Genesis 26)
And Jacob received the prophecy of blessing of the Promised Land in his dream

In addition to the forefathers of the Jewish nation, Moses, the greatest leader of mankind, strived to lead the Israelites back to the land of Israel, the land overflowing with milk and honey.
In later generations, the Jewish prophets prophesized the return of the Israelites to their land at the end of the exile.
